A24 relief road
New train station
New cycle network
Green infrastructure
2,500 new homes
750,000sqft of employment and community innovation
The proposed development would adjoin the existing Broadlands Business Park at Langhurst Wood Road to the east. It would be visually separate from the North Horsham development, but closely located to the largest settlement in the District – the area of greatest economic and housing demand in north-west Sussex. The site provides an opportunity to deliver homes that meet both Horsham District’s needs and that of the wider sub-region, particularly Mole Valley and Crawley.
The plans include full provision of electric vehicle charging points, and Gateway will make a commitment to energy efficiency and sourcing energy from renewable sources. The proposed masterplan incorporates mobility hubs where we propose to co-locate public transport interchange modes including bus, rail, cycle and electric vehicles.
The masterplan is fundamentally designed to co-locate living and working to provide for low carbon highly sustainable development. We expect the proposals providing homes, jobs, services, new community facilities and significant new public open spaces to be particularly attractive to changing working patterns, with easy access to shared space and facilities on the doorstep.
The plans contain a wide variety of local facilities, including a primary school and shops, plus employment opportunities with good connections provided for pedestrians and cyclists. There would also be connections provided to a proposed new railway station, and in the interim to the existing Warnham Station.
